Project Leads

Natural Resource Solutions Inc. (NRSI) is an environmental consulting firm with our head office located in Waterloo. Our staff consists of terrestrial, wetland and aquatic biologists and ecologists with particular expertise in the identification and management of significant and sensitive biological communities. NRSI provides a range of services in the following areas:

 Vegetation and Wildlife Ecology  Fisheries and Aquatic Biology
 Wetland Studies  Naturalization and Ecological Restoration
 Woodlot and Tree Studies  Watershed Planning
 Environmental Impact Assessment

Responsibilities include:
• Technical experience in aquatic, wetland and/or terrestrial ecology,
• Excellent communication skills,
• Understanding of natural heritage planning and policies in Ontario and Canada, and/or,
• Understanding of renewable energy policies in Ontario,
• Ability to supervise multiple project schedules, budgeting, and staffing,
• Preparation of written reports, proposals and cost estimates,
• Liaison with clients and agency staff.

Experience conducting field work and the ability to identify wildlife including fish and/or vegetation species is an asset. Although it is envisioned that the majority of the work will be conducted from our head office in Waterloo, applicants should be willing to travel as you will be asked to participate in field work, attend meetings, Open Houses, etc. throughout Ontario. You will be expected to work both as part of a team and individually with minimal supervision. The job will include report preparation, including the collection and review of background information, writing field results, analyzing data, identifying impacts and mitigation measures and researching topics as required. There is a range of business targets for both project management and the securement of new business associated with this position. Excellent written and oral communications skills are required.

We have a need for Project Leads, at our head office in Waterloo. This is a fulltime / permanent position beginning immediately with a 3 month probationary period.

Candidates for this position should have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience and be capable of carrying out natural environment components associated with Natural Heritage Assessments (under REA), Environmental Impact Studies (EISs), Environmental Assessments (EAs), natural heritage studies and biological monitoring programs. The candidate should be well-versed in current natural heritage policies and regulations at the federal, provincial and Conservation Authority levels.

The remuneration package includes salary commensurate on experience, profit sharing, support of professional development, a full benefit package and RRSP contribution plan.
