Job Description:
As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for organizing and implementing baseline monitoring programs, including study design, statistical analysis and reporting. You will design and implement programs specifically for population monitoring, habitat assessment, and environmental assessment preparation. You will also plan, schedule, organize and lead field work for wildlife projects and provide consultation and recommendations on protection/mitigation to clients, project managers and regulators. Ultimately, you must ensure full environmental compliance of project activities with all relevant provincial and federal environmental regulations. You will be expected to travel to various locations in BC and Alberta in this position.
Using your considerable organizational, communication and people skills, you will work with project teams and individual biologists to ensure projects are completed within allotted schedules and budgets, and to high quality standards. Mentorship of new and junior employees is also a key part of this role.
Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in Biology and registered as a Professional Biologist (R.P. Bio) in British Columbia;
• Minimum 5+ years of relevant field and office experience, preferably in a consulting environment;
• Proven working knowledge of the Environmental Assessment process;
• Evidence of strong writing skills such as completed environmental assessments is mandatory;
• Effective management, resource planning, and implementation capabilities;
• Field trips will be required on and off during the year (> 8 weeks);
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
