Biologist - Senior

Company Overview
Dillon is a well established, employee-owned professional consulting firm operating across Canada and internationally. We provide a wide range of consulting and design services related to the infrastructure, real estate, resource, industrial and government sectors in Canada and abroad. We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Biologist in our Saskatoon office.
Job Description:
• Development of technical studies and project management for the natural environment component of a variety of natural resource, municipal, land development, and infrastructure development assignments
• Management of report and proposal preparation and presentations
• Provision of direction and instruction to project team members including natural scientists, technologists and technical support staff
• Liaison with public and private sector clients, enhancement of client relationships and development of new business opportunities
• Contribution to the career development of more junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring
• Contributions to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees
• Business travel to other Dillon offices upon request
Qualifications:
• A degree in biology, ecology or a related environmental field
• A minimum of 10 years’ of related professional experience
EXPERIENCE
• Experience in:
o environmental assessments
o field collection and analysis of data regarding terrestrial and aquatic species
o natural environment impact assessment, mitigation and monitoring
o development of resource and habitat conservation and restoration plans
o fisheries assessment and management
• Expert knowledge in developing and leading teams of science professionals
• In-depth understanding of relevant provincial, territorial and federal environmental legislation and policies
• Strong oral and written communication, report writing, organization and interpersonal skills
