SUMMARY:Case Studies – Low Carbon Technology (LCT) in different sectors
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Tuesday\, September 17\, from 11:00 AM to 12 PM MT for an insightful webinar focusing on Low-Carbon Technologies (LCTs) through practical case studies and forward-looking analyses. \nThis session will showcase real-world examples of LCTs in different sectors\, offering a tangible view of their implementation and impact. We will discuss the current and emerging challenges\, opportunities\, and benefits of LCTs. \nWe will delve into: \n\nCase studies of Integration\, implementation\, and utilization of LCTs from various sectors\nDiscuss the challenges\, opportunities and benefits of adopting LCTs\nExplore the impact of adopting LCTs on reducing carbon emissions and mitigating climate change\n\nThis webinar provides essential insights into shaping Canada’s clean growth and climate action plans. It is ideal for industry professionals\, policymakers\, and stakeholders interested in the practical and forward-looking aspects of low-carbon technologies. Register today to engage in the conversation and learn about the next steps in LCT development. \nSpeaker: Dan Clayton\nPresident (Alberta Acoustics\, Noise and Vibration Society | Technical Discipline Manager (Acoustics & Vibration) at SLR.\n \n  \nDan Clayton\, a seasoned professional with over 15 years in acoustics\, sound\, and vibration\, seamlessly melds technical expertise with strategic leadership at both his workplace at SLR Consulting (Canada) Ltd. and as president of AANViS. His evolution from a proficient expert to a mentor and strategic guide highlights his impact on acoustics and vibration assessments and transformative team management. Dan’s visionary approach and inspiring mentorship make him a luminary in the acoustics industry\, leaving an indelible mark on both his teams and the field. \n  \n  \n  \nSpeaker: Olivia Petrus\nApplication Specialist with Spartan Controls\n\n\n  \nOlivia is an Application Specialist with Spartan Controls on the Environment Solutions team. Olivia has experience leading funding program initiatives and \nassisting industry partners with their emissions reduction goals through the deployment of Spartan’s clean technology portfolio. She graduated from the University of Calgary with an Energy Engineering degree and also holds a Petroleum Engineering Technology diploma from SAIT Polytechnic. Olivia \nleads the Green Team at Spartan Controls which focuses on reducing Spartan’s footprint across each of their 14 facilities. \n\n  \n  \nSpeaker: Ahsan Syed\nCommercial & carbon monetization strategy for cleantech scale-ups\, and net zero GHG emissions advisor\n\n\n\nAhsan is a carbon and energy decarbonization specialist with 10+ years of experience across a broad range of climate-related verticals\, including renewable energy (hydrogen\, waste-to-energy\, biofuels\, biogas\, CCUS)\, climate policy and corporate net-zero strategies. His broad experience in the environmental industry was developed through various consulting roles with Cap-Op Energy (now Radicle BMO)\, SYSTEMIQ and ERM. Ahsan was most recently with ATCO’s Clean Energy Team as a senior advisor of strategy\, where he led several techno-economic and macroeconomic studies on the export markets for renewable ammonia\, hydrogen’s role as a transport fuel\, and pathways to reduce the carbon intensity of large-scale hydrogen production. Prior to that\, Ahsan split his time across various clean technology startups and project developers between Canada\, the US\, the UK and Sweden\, advising on commercial strategy\, carbon reduction monetization\, financial modelling and fundraising\, and grant writing. Ahsan is now focused on decarbonizing the cement industry as a project origination lead with Carbon Upcycling. \n\nLearn more about our Innovating GHG-Reduction\, Nurturing Institutions\, and Training Enterprises for a Low Carbon Economy (IGNITE) Project
