SUMMARY:From Data to Decisions: MRV for Greenhouse Gas Emissions
DESCRIPTION:Join ECO Canada this training program is designed to build knowledge and practical skills in the measurement\, reporting\, and verification (MRV) of greenhouse gas emissions. Participants will gain an understanding of international MRV frameworks\, sector-specific applications\, and compliance requirements under national and global regulations. The course will also cover tools\, methodologies\, and best practices to support effective MRV implementation. \nSpots are limited\, so secure your place now to enhance your professional credentials and contribute to a low-carbon future by registering for the MRV Training Program! \n  \nWho Should Attend: \n\nGHG Management & Sustainability Professionals\nESG\, Climate Risk\, and Corporate Reporting Teams\nEnvironmental\, Process\, and Project Engineers\nEnergy\, Utilities\, and Industrial Operations Staff\nCompliance\, Assurance\, and Internal Audit Professionals\nPolicy Analysts and Regulators involved in climate reporting\nConsultants and Third Party Verifiers\nDecision makers involved in emissions reduction and net zero planning\n\n  \nBenefits for Participants \n\nGain a clear understanding of MRV principles and international standards (GHG Protocol\, ISO 14064\, IPCC)\nBuild practical skills to measure\, calculate\, and manage GHG emissions accurately\nDevelop the ability to prepare transparent\, compliant\, and auditable GHG reports\nUnderstand the verification process and how to prepare for third party audits\nImprove data quality\, traceability\, and confidence in emissions disclosures\nReduce compliance risks and support regulatory\, investor\, and stakeholder requirements\nStrengthen organizational capability for net zero strategies and climate governance\n\n  \nSpeaker: \n \nHakim Habani is a Project Coordinator within ECO Canada’s Professional Services division. For close to two years\, he has been a driving contributor to Project IGNITE\, a national initiative advancing skills development and the adoption of practices and technologies that underpin Canada’s transition to a low-carbon economy. \nIn this role\, Hakim has delivered training across Canada spanning GHG Management\, MRV for GHG\, and Low Carbon Technology\, with a particular focus on Measurement\, Reporting\, and Verification (MRV). He has worked hands-on with organizations across multiple sectors\, helping them build the internal capacity to meet both Canadian and international disclosure requirements and align with the frameworks that anchor credible climate reporting\, including the GHG Protocol\, ISO 14064\, and IPCC guidance\, alongside domestic regulatory and reporting obligations. \nHakim holds a Bachelor’s degree in Earth and Environmental Sciences and a Master’s degree in Geosciences from the University of Lorraine (France)\, a scientific grounding that shapes his rigorous\, evidence-based approach to emissions management and climate training. \nIn this MRV Training Program\, Hakim will unpack the international and Canadian standards that anchor credible GHG reporting\, examining their application across sectors and their implications for compliance under current and emerging regulatory regimes. He will walk participants through the methodologies\, tools\, and best practices required to operationalize MRV\, from data collection and quality assurance through to verification readiness\, grounding the discussion in a real-world case study that brings these concepts to life. Drawing on lessons from his work with organizations across the country\, Hakim will share practical\, realistic approaches to strengthening data integrity and traceability\, and will show how sound MRV practice translates directly into lower compliance risk and stronger climate governance. \n
