Cold Weather and Ev's!

One of the most common concerns about ZEVs in Canada is cold weather performance. While a ZEV does need to use battery-stored energy to heat the cabin, it is still a small load compared to the pack size of a modern BEV. Hydrogen fuel cells have a small advantage as the fuel cell does create "waste" heat, that can be used to heat the cabin. The solution for BEVs is to heat the interior while the battery is plugged in and recharging before you leave home, this way, you step into a nicely warmed vehicle without any decrease in the range of the vehicle.
