Expert: Geni Peters, PhD
LMI Manager, ECO Canada

Geni Peters is an economist with a Ph.D. in Economics from Texas A&M University. As Labour Market Information (LMI) Manager at ECO Canada, she is responsible for the management, execution and delivery of environmental LMI projects, working with an army of professionals comprised of staff, consultants, strategic advisors and subject matter experts. Before joining ECO Canada, Geni applied her knowledge and skills in a wide range of roles and industries. She worked as a lecturer for 14 years, teaching a wide range of economics courses and supervising student research projects at UC San Diego and Penn State University. More recently, she managed labour market research initiatives including economic modelling and reporting at PetroLMI Division of Energy Safety Canada (formerly the Petroleum Human Resources Council) and conducted economic research and analysis at Brown Economic Consulting.
Expert: Erin Edwards
Manager, School of Environment and Sustainability, Royal Roads University

Erin joined Royal Roads in 2017 and is responsible for managing all general and academic administration, student support, financial management, human resources, and marketing/communication needs for the School, while balancing the needs and interests of all University stakeholders. Prior to her time at Royal Roads, Erin created and managed the education department at the Audain Art Museum and oversaw all educational programs at the North Vancouver Outdoor School. She also continues to work closely with two environmental non-profits, The Grizzly Bear Foundation and Georgia Strait Alliance. A believer in lifelong learning, Erin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography from the University of Victoria and is enrolling in the MA in Environment and Management at Royal Roads.
Expert: Ailsa Popilian
Team Lead, Marketing Communications

Ailsa Popilian is a Marketing and Communications professional with over 10 years experience in environmental and engineering services. She has worked in the environmental sector for both private-sector consulting and for non-profit organizations. Her work includes promoting programs that support individual environmental careers and professional services for Canadian businesses. In addition to her roles with ECO Canada, she volunteers with IABC to promote their professional standards and events. Ailsa holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Calgary and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Marketing Strategy from Cornell University’s Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management.
Expert: Leslie King
Professor, School of Environment and Sustainability — Royal Roads University

Professor Leslie King’s life has been dedicated to environmental education and inspiring and empowering people to enter and excel in the environmental field, solving local to global environmental problems. She designed and implemented new, innovative, applied environmental programs, departments and faculties in Canadian, US, and African Universities. Leslie has degrees from the University of British Columbia, York University, University of Toronto and the London School of Economics. Most recently she was the founding Chair of Environment at UNBC, Founding Dean of the Clayton H. Riddell Faculty of Environment, Earth and Resources at the University of Manitoba and the Vice President Academic at Vancouver Island University. She has served as Adjunct Professor and external examiner at Universities of Vermont, Dartmouth, Manitoba, Montreal, Victoria and Vancouver Island. She is currently Professor in the School of Environment and Sustainability at Royal Roads University in Victoria, Canada. She directs the Canadian Centre for Environmental Education and is program head of the Masters in Environmental Practice and Bachelors in Environmental Practice programs.
