Youth in Natural Resources

The Youth in Natural Resources program is designed to train and support participants aged 15 to 30 who are looking to transition into or gain experience in the natural resources field.

This program not only helps participants build a network of peers and mentors but also provides employers with a chance to onboard young professionals. By doing so, it creates meaningful job opportunities in environmental sectors such as Energy, Forestry, Mining, Minerals & Metals, and Earth Sciences, while addressing the challenges often associated with hiring new professionals.

Student Work Placement (Co-op)

Post-secondary students play a vital role in the growth of the environmental workforce. ECO Canada’s Student Work Placement Program assists both students and employers in finding suitable matches, providing essential support through wage assistance.

This program is funded by the Government of Canada’s Employment and Social Development Program. It collaborates with institutions and employers across the country to fund work placements that offer students real-world experience in the environmental field while they are still in school.

Digital Skills For Youth

The Digital Skills for Youth Program offers training and funding for young professionals with post-secondary education to help them transition into the workforce and gain experience in the environmental digital skills sector. This program also helps build a network of peers and mentors.

For employers, the program is tailored to meet the needs of small to medium-sized companies (those with fewer than 500 employees). It provides an opportunity to onboard young professionals and create meaningful environmental jobs with a focus on digital skills while addressing the challenges of hiring recent graduates.

Science Horizons Youth Internship

The Science Horizons Program offers training and funding to young professionals with post-secondary education, assisting them in their transition into the workforce and helping them gain experience in the environmental sector. The program also enables participants to build a network of peers and mentors.

For employers, this initiative provides an opportunity to onboard young professionals and establish meaningful environmental jobs in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. It addresses the challenges of hiring young talent and removes common barriers.
