IMPORTANT NOTICE: The Digital Skills for Youth program is currently closed for applications. We would like to thank the employers, interns, and partners who participated in the program thus far and contributed to supporting youth employment in the environmental digital skills sector.
The Digital Skills for Youth (DS4Y) Program offers training and funding for young professionals with post-secondary education to help them transition into the workforce and gain experience in the environmental digital skills sector. This program also helps build a network of peers and mentors.
For employers, the program is tailored to meet the needs of small to medium-sized companies (those with fewer than 500 employees). It provides an opportunity to onboard young professionals and create meaningful environmental jobs with a focus on digital skills while addressing the challenges of hiring recent graduates.

This program offers eligible employers 80% wage coverage up to $18,000 of a candidate’s salary for a placement in a new full-time or part-time 3 to 12 month position. Both the employer and candidate must fill out reports throughout the placement for the employer to receive the wage subsidy.

In the spirit of respect, reciprocity, and truth, we acknowledge that we live, work, and gather on the traditional territories of the peoples of Treaty 7, including the Blackfoot Confederacy—comprising the Siksika, Kainai, and Piikani Nations—as well as the Îyâxe Nakoda and Tsuut’ina Nations.
This land, known as Moh’kinsstis in the Blackfoot language and encompassing what is now Districts 5 and 6, is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3, within the historical Northwest Métis homeland.
We recognize and honour the deep connection these Nations have to the land, and we are grateful for the opportunity to share in its stewardship.
As we continue our work, we commit to learning from Indigenous knowledge systems, uplifting Indigenous voices, and fostering relationships rooted in equity, understanding, and reconciliation.
