EP® (GHG) Designation

ECO Canada and the Greenhouse Gas Management Institute (GHGMI) are excited to introduce the EP® (GHG) designation, which recognizes environmental professionals for their expertise in greenhouse gas initiatives. Set to launch in late 2025, this globally recognized certification will enable individuals to showcase their proficiency in GHG management. Join a growing community of professionals who are influencing the future of carbon management.

Why the EP® (GHG) Designation Matters

The global demand for skilled professionals in greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting, reporting, analysis, and verification has reached unprecedented levels. As pressure from voluntary and regulatory factors increases—such as mandatory GHG reporting, carbon markets, ESG disclosures, and planning for net-zero transitions—the need for highly skilled and ethical carbon management professionals is crucial.

This EP® (GHG) Designation will address a significant gap in the industry. Although there are existing programs for GHG validation and verification services, there has been a lack of a trusted professional certification for individual practitioners. This new certification will establish a rigorous standard, ensuring that professionals meet the high competency and ethical requirements essential in this rapidly evolving field.
