Indigenous and Community Relations Specialist

Brad Spence is a proud member of the Saddle Lake First Nation and is proud to be a Traditional Knowledge Keeper for his community. Brad has over 18 years of experience working in Stakeholder and Indigenous relations in the oil and gas and not-for-profit sectors. Brad joined the ECO Canada team in 2019 as the indigenous and community relations specialist where he is currently working to support ECO Canada building relationships with Indigenous Peoples (Businesses, Communities, and Governments) across Canada.

Topics will include:

  • An overview of Canada’s Indigenous history, including residential schools, the child welfare system, inequitable legislation, and epistemicide
  • The definition of reconciliation, why it is important, and how we can take action
  • The Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s mission and calls to action
  • Reconciliation in the workplace
