The EP Employer designation is awarded to organizations as a 5-year term. As a certified organization, you must fulfill and track annual requirements to remain in good standing. But do not worry, we will help guide you through the process and, by committing to this on-going process, your organization will thrive as leaders in the environmental sector.

As a commitment to enhancing your HR practices and policies, membership maintenance is required annually. There are two key components to maintaining your membership status:

Payment of Staff Membership Renewal Fees
As an EP Employer you are eligible for a discount on your staff renewal fees*.
Confirm your list of certified staff members and reach out to employer@eco.ca to confirm your list and receive discount code.

Provide Staff With 4 “Lunch and Learn” Activities
Lunch and Learn Training Activities can include:
• ECO Canada Webinars (FREE)
• ECO Canada Course Access – Share Key Learnings
• ECO Canada 1:1 Info Session
These activities must be tracked in your PD tracking spreadsheet and include date of delivery and attendance numbers.

All relevant discount / promo codes are found in the benefits section of your account.

Inclusion of EP and EP Code of Ethics
Update organization ethics to include EP Code of Ethics and / or add EP/EPt/EP Auditor designations to recruitment practices (including job postings).
These activities must be tracked on your PD tracking spreadsheet.

Annual EP Employer Member Survey
Participate in the short annual EP Employer Member Survey.
ECO Canada will send the link to the survey each Fall. Details of the participation must be tracked in your PD tracking spreadsheet.

HR Assessment Tool
Complete the Assessment, at minimum, once per year.
Link available in the benefits section of your member account.

Employee Training Program
Commit to an employee training program. Provide details on how you’ve made use of ECO Canada’s resources for this or provide details of an existing training program. Include detail of its success and strong points.
Record details of these activities in your PD tracking spreadsheet.

Employee Satisfaction Survey
Conduct an Employee Satisfaction Survey. This activity can fast-track your nomination for Top EP Employer of the Year at the ECO Canada Impact Awards.
Link to be made available in the benefits section of your member account in Year 3. Track this activity in your PD tracking spreadsheet.

Community Activity
Provide details on how your organization has given back to the sector and;o0r the EP Employer certification program (i.e. adoption of a Mentorship Program, promotion of the EP designation to clients, staff and the public, etc.)
Record details of these activities in your PD tracking spreadsheet.
