Cultivating and Nurturing Employer Readiness for Green Growth

To meet the growing demand for environmental talent, this project delivers a comprehensive suite of workforce development initiatives. Through targeted HR consulting and strategic employer engagement, we’re equipping small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with the tools they need to attract and retain environmentally skilled professionals. 

Project Components

Customized HR Consulting

Receive up to 15 hours of 1-on-1 support from ECO Canada’s in-house HR specialists. Focused on environmental hiring, workforce planning, and retention strategies—free for 60 selected SMEs.

Interactive Training Workshops

Five sessions across Alberta (virtual + in-person) will train HR staff on:

  • Writing clear, targeted job description.
  • Conducting inclusive and equitable interviews
  • Applying workforce analytics
  • Building empowering team cultures

Digital Resource Hub

Access 30–50 downloadable HR templates, self-assessment tools, and best-practice guides to support everyday hiring and team development.

ECOWorks Career Fair

We’re hosting major job fairs in Calgary and online bringing together:

  • job seekers & students

  • employers

  • Sectors: Renewable energy, clean tech, environmental services, disaster recovery

Marketing support includes:
Social media promotion, email campaigns, and local media outreach to maximize impact.

Workforce Track at ECO Impact 2026

A dedicated HR stream at Alberta’s premier environmental workforce conference.

This stream features:

  • 6–8 expert-led sessions and panel discussions

  • Actionable workshops on workforce strategies

  • High-value networking for HR leaders and green sector employers
