VCF Networking Tables

Engage in focused conversations with peers, professionals, and mentors around key topics in the environmental sector. Each table provides a welcoming space to share experiences, ask questions, and explore practical insights, from advancing women in leadership, supporting youth employment, navigating education and accreditation, to building meaningful career connections and exploring professional certification.

Advancing Women to Leadership Roles: Experience Sharing on Systemic Barriers

This table is inspired by ECO Canada’s project Advancing Women to Leadership Roles in Agriculture, Agri-food and Ocean Sector, which champions gender equality and inclusive leadership in traditionally male-dominated industries. It’s a space for open dialogue, reflection, and learning — especially for newcomers and recent graduates who are beginning to explore their place in the sector. Join us to hear stories, share your own, and discuss practical ways to foster equity and inclusion in your career journey.

YES to Opportunity: Empowering Youth Facing Employment Barriers

This table is inspired by ECO Canada’s YES project, which supports youth who face systemic barriers to employment — including Indigenous youth, racialized youth, 2SLGBTQI+ youth, newcomers to Canada, and youth with disabilities. Join this space to share experiences, explore pathways to meaningful work, and connect with others who value diverse perspectives and inclusive workplaces. Whether you’re just starting out or looking for guidance, this is a place to be heard, supported, and inspired.

Accredited Pathways: Education, Skills, and Career Readiness

This table is inspired by ECO Canada’s Accreditation Programs, which recognize post-secondary environmental programs that meet national standards of excellence. Join this conversation to explore how education shapes career readiness, what accreditation means for students and employers, and how newcomers and graduates can leverage their learning to build meaningful careers in the environmental sector.

Career Connections: Meet, Share, and Grow

This table is designed for open networking and casual conversation. Whether you’re a recent graduate, newcomer to Canada, early-career professional, or simply exploring opportunities in the environmental sector, this is a space to meet others, share your journey, and build meaningful connections. No agenda, just good conversation and community.

Certified Conversations: Exploring the EP Journey Together

This table is inspired by ECO Canada’s Environmental Professional (EP) Certification programs, including EPt and EPt Student. While you can learn all the technical details at the ECO Canada booth or in the Unlock Your Environmental Career webinar, this space is designed for open conversation. Whether you’re just starting to explore certification or curious about how it fits into your career path, join us to ask questions, hear from others, and share your thoughts on professional growth in the environmental sector.

Land Acknowledgment

In the spirit of respect, reciprocity, and truth, we acknowledge that we live, work, and gather on the traditional territories of the peoples of Treaty 7, including the Blackfoot Confederacy—comprising the Siksika, Kainai, and Piikani Nations—as well as the Îyâxe Nakoda and Tsuut’ina Nations.

This land, known as Moh’kinsstis in the Blackfoot language and encompassing what is now Districts 5 and 6, is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3, within the historical Northwest Métis homeland.

We recognize and honour the deep connection these Nations have to the land, and we are grateful for the opportunity to share in its stewardship.

As we continue our work, we commit to learning from Indigenous knowledge systems, uplifting Indigenous voices, and fostering relationships rooted in equity, understanding, and reconciliation.
