The Blue Economy fosters sustainable ocean resource use, driving economic growth while protecting marine ecosystems. It spans fisheries, renewable energy, and coastal tourism, benefiting communities and industries. ECO Canada advances the Blue Economy by offering resources and opportunities for professionals to lead sustainable development efforts nationwide.

Zero-Emission Vehicle Awareness Initiative

The Zero-Emission Vehicle Awareness Initiative (ZEVAI) educates and empowers communities to adopt Zero-Emission Medium and Heavy-Duty Vehicles. It aims to boost awareness and remove barriers in sustainable transportation, targeting farming, rural, remote, Indigenous communities, small businesses, and transportation companies across Canada.

Project IGNITE: Innovating GHG Reduction, Nurturing Institutions, and Training Enterprises for a Low-Carbon Economy. This project promotes low-carbon technology adoption and workforce development to cut greenhouse gas emissions. Through funding and assistance, ECO Canada enhances readiness for emission-reduction projects, removing barriers to sustainable adoption.

Work-Integrated Learning: A Net Zero Talent Pipeline

Canada needs 40,000 skilled environmental workers annually for the next decade. To bridge this gap, this project provides innovative work-integrated learning (iWIL) opportunities, equipping students with net-zero skills and fostering industry collaboration. By empowering young Canadians, we’re building the next generation of environmental leaders.

Accessibility and Inclusion in the Environmental Sector

The Canadian Association for Supported Employment (CASE) is a national network advancing inclusive employment for persons with disabilities. By increasing labour market participation, CASE fosters full citizenship, personal capacity, and social inclusion. Through community partnerships, they help create equitable opportunities for all Canadians.
