The energy efficiency sector is projected to grow by 8.3%, creating over 36,000 jobs in 2019
Energy efficiency is a major component of the global movement to combat climate change, and it’s also a critical element to transitioning Canada to a low-carbon economy. Policies at federal and provincial levels have spurred actions to achieve energy savings through the development and deployment of more efficient goods and services.
In the fall of 2018, ECO Canada surveyed energy efficiency goods and services firms and found they were positive about the future of their net revenues through 2019 and expect direct employment to grow by 8.3%, resulting in the creation of thousands of new jobs within six key industries:
- Construction
- Manufacturing
- Wholesale Trade
- Professional and Business Services
- Utilities
- Other Services
