Meet Maddie Hague, Environmental Professional in-Training for Greenhouse Gas Management, EPt(GHG)
Maddie Hague, Environmental Assessment Analyst for the Tsleil-Waututh Nation, earned her EPt(GHG) certification in April 2026, specializing in GHG Accounting and Reporting.
Before pursuing her EPt(GHG) designation, Maddie completed a Diploma in Greenhouse Gas Accounting through the Greenhouse Gas Management Institute. Seeking to further strengthen her expertise and advance her career, she took the next step toward professional certification.
The EPt(GHG) designation serves as a recognized benchmark for expertise, consistency, credibility, and trust in environmental reporting. For Maddie, the designation validates both her formal education and years of experience in the environmental sector.

A Career Dedicated to Sustainability
Maddie’s career journey has spanned several important areas of the environmental sector. After earning a degree in Anthropology, she spent several years working as an Archaeological Field Technician before transitioning into sustainable community development.
While completing her Master’s degree in Resource and Environmental Management, Maddie focused on Indigenous rights and governance. Her diverse experience across multiple environmental disciplines over the past decade has given her a comprehensive understanding of sustainability and the critical role environmental professionals play in shaping responsible development.
Today, as an Environmental Assessment Analyst working with a First Nation to evaluate major energy projects, she sees firsthand how rigorous greenhouse gas accounting supports both climate action and informed decision-making.
