Introducing the EP(GHG) Designation – Addressing Critical Gaps in the GHG Management Workforce

October 8 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

ECO Canada and the Greenhouse Gas Management Institute (GHGMI) are pleased to invite you to an exclusive joint webinar exploring the upcoming launch of the Environmental Professional (GHG) – EP(GHG) designation. This new credential is designed to address urgent gaps in the greenhouse gas (GHG) management workforce and provide trusted recognition for professionals in the field.

Hosted by Liz Getty, this engaging session will feature Kevin Nilsen (President & CEO, ECO Canada) and Michael Gillenwater (Executive Director & Dean, GHGMI). Together, they will provide high-level overviews of their organizations and discuss the industry challenges that the EP(GHG) designation is uniquely positioned to solve.

Attendees will gain:

  • An understanding of the collaboration between ECO Canada and GHGMI to create a globally informed, nationally recognized designation for GHG professionals.
  • Insight into the workforce and industry gaps driving the need for EP(GHG).
  • High-level information on what the EP(GHG) designation is, who it’s for, and how it will strengthen a global climate workforce.

This webinar is the first in a two-part series. The follow-up session, scheduled for late November after the designation’s official launch, will take a deeper dive into requirements, eligibility, and the application process for those ready to take the next step.

Join us as we introduce a new standard of excellence in greenhouse gas management and set the stage for the future of the low-carbon workforce.

Land Acknowledgment

In the spirit of respect, reciprocity, and truth, we acknowledge that we live, work, and gather on the traditional territories of the peoples of Treaty 7, including the Blackfoot Confederacy—comprising the Siksika, Kainai, and Piikani Nations—as well as the Îyâxe Nakoda and Tsuut’ina Nations.

This land, known as Moh’kinsstis in the Blackfoot language and encompassing what is now Districts 5 and 6, is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3, within the historical Northwest Métis homeland.

We recognize and honour the deep connection these Nations have to the land, and we are grateful for the opportunity to share in its stewardship.

As we continue our work, we commit to learning from Indigenous knowledge systems, uplifting Indigenous voices, and fostering relationships rooted in equity, understanding, and reconciliation.
