All YES participants are required to join us for the Workplace Health & Safety Basics and First Day at Work webinar.

The session will be broken down into two 45-minue sessions:

First Day at Work: Onboarding Tips: Starting a new job can feel exciting and overwhelming. This practical 45-minute webinar helps job seekers and new employees prepare for day one, understand workplace expectations, communicate confidently, and turn their responsibilities into clear priorities. Participants will leave with a readiness checklist, practical questions to ask, and strategies for building relationships, seeking feedback, and becoming reliable contributors during their first 90 days.

Workplace Health and Safety Basics: Start a new role with the confidence to recognize hazards and speak up when something does not feel safe. This introductory 45-minute webinar covers common workplace hazards, safe work practices, personal protective equipment, the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), ergonomics, emergency procedures, incident reporting, and worker rights and responsibilities. Participants will learn when to pause, ask questions, report concerns, and take appropriate action.

These sessions will help you be successful at your placement.
